a few pictures are worth getting locked out for, right?

One of Shepherd's favorite Christmas presents was, by far, his angry birds hat. He wears it every day. Inside, outside, he doesn't care. He loves that "red birdie." For one reason or another, I hadn't had a chance to take any really good pictures of him with his hat. I have tons on my phone--don't doubt that--but I wanted some with the "real" camera too. So we ran outside in the 30 degree weather this afternoon and snapped some shots.

And just last week, Zoey got a belated birthday present from my Aunt Peggy, one of the best knitters around--a matching hat and mittens set. One of the best things about those mittens is the fact that her initials are on them, and my Aunt Rosie helped with the initials. I love the fact that they were a joint effort between two of the best aunts ever (don't worry, the other Sisters are equally awesome!). There's a lot of love in this hat and these mittens.

And while we were having all this fun, we managed to lock ourselves out of the house without a cellphone. Weird, since it's pretty much an extra appendage, right? So for 30 minutes, we got to spend some time with our 80 year old neighbors.

At least we'll have a good story, and I hope they enjoyed our company as much as we enjoyed theirs.

For more info on where to buy the angry birds hat, go HERE. No one asked me to post about it, we just love it that much!
