i had a birthday

I can now officially say i'm in my ::ahem:: late 20s. The day itself was not so special, as Zoey spent the day coughing until she puked, i had a major sinus headache, and overall just wanted to be in bed.

BUT. My parents had just spent the weekend here, Brandon & I went to the Pirates opening series (to watch them play the Phillies!), and I got to treat myself to quite the little shopping spree last night. Annnd if that's not enough, Brandon surprised me with a new camera bag, a lens polarizer, and a 50 mm lens.

I took my first pictures with it today. Some that I thought looked great on the back of the camera showed up super-grainy on my computer screen, sooo... I have a LOT more learning to do! Here are the highlights though:
